FIRST WORLD WAR GERMAN MODEL M.16 HELMET SIZE 66 MANUFACTURED BY EISENHÜTTENWERKE THALE A.G., THALE /HARZ AND STAMPED ON THE SKIRT ET 64. PART OF A CONSIGNMENT OF GERMAN AND AUSTRO_HUNGARIAN SURPLUS ARMS AND EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED TO THE ROYAL AFGHAN ARMY IN 1919. IN AFGHAN SERVICE IT WAS FITTED WITH A LOCALLY MADE LINER AND BADGE. IT WAS RECOVERED FROM AGHANISTAN IN 2005 BY A COALITION SOLDIER SERVING ON OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.
